A GRANDFATHER who drove into the back of a car was found to be over the drink-drive limit after attending a family christening, a court heard.
Brian Olive (64), of Plover Drive, Bury, admitted he drove without due care and attention and while under the influence of drink.
He was banned by Bury magistrates from driving for 16 months and fines and costs totalling £120 were imposed.
Miss Lisa Hashmi, prosecuting, said Olive drove into the back of another car at traffic lights in Walmersley Road.
A reading showed him to have 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath compared with the legal level of 35mg in 100ml.
Defending, Mr Roger Taylor said Olive had no intention of driving until he had a row with his ex-wife.
