BURY has been declared a "decaffeinated" zone following a lack of interest in the upcoming World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
The Macmillan Cancer Relief fundraising event is due to take place on September 30 with coffee mornings taking place across the country, but Bury is lagging behind in the number of scheduled events.
Fundraiser Louise Stimson said: "Today and every day, 739 people will be told they have cancer. Macmillan needs to be able to be there for everyone who needs their support. I would like to challenge people to put the caffeine back into Bury by registering for the World's Biggest Coffee Morning!"
Taking part in the event involves inviting friends, family and colleagues for a coffee and making a donation for every cup they drink. Visit www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee or call 0845 602 1246.
