TEENAGERS uncertain about what to do with their futures picked up some helpful tips and advice thanks to youth agency Connexions.
A team of personal advisors (PAs) from the Broad Street agency set up an information stall in the Mill Gate Shopping Centre to give out more than 300 goodie bags and speak to young people on a range of topics, including choosing the appropriate college course and career move following exam results and "life issues" such as housing, financial matters and family problems.
Connexions provides advice, information and guidance services for 13 to 19-years-olds and now has more than 15,000 contacts with young people in the borough every year through school, colleges and other organisations.
During the four-day event, more than 760 leaflets targeted at young people and parents or carers were distributed explaining how Connexions can help.
