TOP tenor Martin Toal is used to entertaining thousands of people with his voice at international football games.
And while he might have performed national anthems at Euro 2004 and plans to take to the stage before 67,000 at the England versus Australia World Cup qualifier at Old Trafford next month, he is set to bring the Royal Albert Hall to Christ Church Walmersley.
Martin, along with soprano Kay Jordan, will take to the stage at the Walmersley Road venue, on Saturday, September 24, for a Last Night of the Proms concert, including favourites Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem.
And while Martin enjoys joining fans at some of the world's biggest sporting events, he is a classically trained operatic tenor. He has had leading roles in many operas, including Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca and Romeo in Gounod's Romeo and Juliette.
He is currently recording his debut CD to coincide with his performance at the World Cup qualifier at Old Trafford, where he will sing both the English and Australian national anthems.
