FOREVER Bury fans' football teams have started their 2005-6 season with mixed fortunes.

Entertaining Tranmere Rovers in the IFA national competition, the A team ran out 4-1 winners, while B team went down 4-5 Preston North End.

Last weekend the A team followed the seniors down to Northampton in the IFA league and earned a 2-2 draw.

The A team benefits from sponsorship from Chris Bainbridge, editor and publishers of 'The Hatchet,' the Bury FC independent fanzine.

At present, the B team has no sponsor, but if anyone out there would like to take on the role, contact John Raftery on 0161 764 4338.

Also on the lookout for sponsors are the organisers of the Forever Bury Beer Festival, which will take place in February 2006.

Last year's effort raised over £10,000 and patrons drank the Festival dry.

A main sponsor is still being sought as well as sponsors for specialist sections of the event.

There are high hopes that a couple of beers from the USA will be available this year, alongside the real ales from every corner of England.

For news on how the festival is being pulled together a new website is being set up, www.beerfestivals.co.uk, and anyone wanting to be involved by sponsoring some part of the festival should contact Dave Giffard at: davegiffard@onetel.com.
