IN response to Joy Hart's letter asking for more support at Gigg Lane ('Support the Shakers', September 1), may we look at a few reasons why the crowds are dwindling fast.
The price of an adult ticket has increased by an unbelievable £6 and children's tickets have increased by £5. My husband, brother and I often went to cheer on the Shakers last season, to carry on this season means that we have to pay an astonishing increase of £18 per game.
Last season, the team only won 14 games out of 46, a mere 32 per cent. So why should the good people of Bury spend their hard earned cash paying £18 per person, when they struggled so badly last season and look to do the same this season?
My husband and I attended the first home game against Leyton Orient, Bury lost 2-1, but the worst thing was half of the team didn't have any enthusiasm or motivation. I left the ground that night with countless other fans feeling disappointed and very let down by the team. Is it any wonder the crowds are dwindling fast?
Unless the results improve at Bury FC I won't be returning to Gigg Lane. I'm sure many fans feels the same.
