STRONG growth in the North-west construction industry has helped a Bolton recruitment specialist increase its turnover by more then 1,000 per cent in two years.
Bromak, a construction recruitment agency based in Capitol House in Churchgate, Bolton, was established just over 2 years ago to initially focus on the North-west of England.
Bromak Director Martyn Makinson said: "We started the business initially with myself and another director, and we have grown to a team size of 12.
"We increased our turnover from year one to year two by more than a 1000 per cent and we are now a multi-million pound turnover business."
Mr Makinson said that he expected from year two to year three growth to increase again by 100 per cent and is currently looking at expanding the business into West Yorkshire. The government agency ConstructionSkills said last month the construction industry in the North-west is enjoying a period of sustained growth, and that 10,480 people are needed to join the construction industry in the North-west every year for the next five years to meet present demand.
Mr Makinson added: "We also invest heavily in technology and are using one of the most up to date databases at present, which is directly linked to our website. We like to work with a smaller number of construction firms and candidates to offer them a much higher level of service, rather than adopting the mass market approach to our recruitment."
The North-west Development Agency said that the regions construction industry provides employment for approximately 231,000 people in more than 16,000 construction firms, working on contracts worth £88.2 billion.
