AMIR Khan will have to find a new venue for his second fight within a month, after top-of-the-bill Scott Harrison pulled out through injury.
Harrison was scheduled to defend his WBO featherweight title on October 1, in Glasgow, but sustained an arm ligament injury during his training camp in Fort William.
Khan, who met Baz Carey in Cardiff on Saturday,Sept 10, was due to fight on the undercard to Harrison just three weeks later.
It is believed the 28-year-old Glaswegian's injury is a recurrence of the one which forced him to delay his fight against William Abelyan for three weeks in the summer of 2004.
Meanwhile the Bolton boxer travelled to Cardiff on Saturday hoping that one day he can emulate Welsh boxing hero Joe Calzaghe.
The 18-year-old lightweight, winner of an Olympic silver medal in Athens, fought Carey in his second professional fight on the undercard to Calzaghe's 17th title defence against Kenyan Evans Ashira at Cardiff's International Arena.
And Khan will watch Calzaghe with interest, taking notes on how to develop from the experienced Welshman.
"Joe's a great inspiration to any up-and-coming boxer," said Khan. "He's been world champion for eight years and that is a magnificent achievement.
"I'll definitely be a world champion one day and if I could hold on to my title half as long as Joe has then I'd be very happy indeed.
"Joe perhaps doesn't get enough credit for his unquestionable achievements. He has an unblemished record of 39 fights and 39 wins; thats as good as anything in boxing."
