OVER 50s are invited to get in the swing with free golf taster sessions.
Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust's Active Living team are offering free lessons at the prestigious Haigh Hall Golf Complex.
They are for people unfamiliar with the game and as part of the Trust's Getting Wigan Active initiative are intended to give the over-50s an opportunity to stay fit and healthy.
"We're looking at providing a fun afternoon for those who are wanting to try something new. We have run several of these sessions and they have always been really popular, many of those who have taken part have gone on to take up golf and now play regularly," says Alison Molloy, LEAP Support Officer for the Trust.
The taster sessions will consist of an introduction to the basics, long shots at the driving range, putting in the short game area and a competition on the Himalayan putting green.
The course will take place on Tuesday September 13 between 1pm and 4pm.
Advanced booking is necessary to ensure a place. Contact Alison on 01942 488481.
