TV soap star Sammy Winward was the guest of honour at an event for a Bolton charity which offers a helping hand to families with young children.
Sammy, who played Katie Sugden in Emmerdale is engaged to Birmingham City footballer David Dunn and gave birth to baby Mia three months ago.
But the 19-year-old former Turton High School pupil stepped back into the spotlight when she attended the local Home-Start annual meeting at the Friends Meeting House, Silverwell Street, to present NVQ certificates to volunteers who have completed a 10-week "Working with families" course.
The Bolton service supports families across the borough and is one of 350 nationwide. The scheme helps people with children under-five, recruiting volunteers to provide one-on-one support and be a helpful friend.
