SIR: It does not surprise me that Bolton are near the bottom of the Tidy Group placings.
It is a pity that these people did not visit the town of Farnworth. They would have been disgusted. Litter abounds in the town. The places that require looking at by the council are behind low brick walls ie: King Street Baths and parking area; Glynne Street/Egerton Street junction; Egerton Street/Moses Gate; Penn Street (weeds two foot high).
Street sweepers are a thing of the past in this town, as are gully emptiers. It is about time our Council representatives walked round the town and they will see these litter spots. They are too numerous to mention.
