LANCASTER 5 LEIGH RMI 2 LEIGH RMI joint manager Steve Waywell has promised a clear out at Hilton Park making all his players available for transfer after the 5-2 hammering at Lancaster last night in what he described as: "A gutless performance".

RMI, with only one league win all season, have now conceded 16 goals in their last four matches.

A disgusted Waywell said: "I have never been involved with such a group of gutless footballers as I am now. I was disgusted with the lack of fight.

"I have certain standards and although there were nine players out there with Conference experience, that performance fell well short of what I expect.

"I brought them to the football club and I will see them off and bring in players who will meet my standards," said Waywell.

RMI went behind in the second minute and were three down by half time. High-flying Lancaster made it four within a minute of the re-start before Jimmy Birch scored from the spot after Jamie Fahey had been fouled in the box.

But back came Lancaster with their fifth almost immediately, Chris Walmesley latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and smashed his shot into the top corner.
