A DAREDEVIL Westhoughton councillor risked life and limb to raise money for two local charities.
Liberal Democrat town councillor Janet Halliwell took the plunge with a successful sponsored abseil down the 100ft sheer rock face of Anglezarke Quarry.
And she's hoping that when the money is collected she will have raised nearly £400 for Bolton Breast Cancer Research Fund and Bolton South District Scouts.
It wasn't the first time that Janet, 30, a care assistant at Campbell House in Farnworth, has taken a dive.
Last year she plucked up the courage to take a terrifying bungee jump for charity in Southport.
She said: "I'd never done anything like this before Southport but I enjoyed it so much I really wanted to do it again. "The abseil was brilliant. I was down originally to do it twice but I liked that so much that I did it three times."
And Janet's taste for the high life continues.
Her next ambition ... a sponsored parachute jump.
