Wanderers took the positive line to today's Coca-Cola Cup draw which handed them a home clash against the Football League's current top team.
"We've got to fancy our chances of progressing further," declared boss Roy McFarland, "and that's no disrespect to Leicester City."
Wanderers will get another bumper crowd for the tie on Tuesday, October 24, when they will again carry the tag of favourites after successfully coming through a tricky two-legged test against Brentford.
The cup clash provides another escape from the pressures of the Premiership and will send a positive buzz around Burnden Park as Wanderers aim to continue their success in the competition in which they were beaten by Liverpool in a thrilling Wembley final seven months ago.
It's a confident and not complacent attitude to the tie which the East Midlands club will relish after romping to three points clear of the chasing pack at the top of Division One.
"There are often surprises in the cup and we must make sure that we are not one of the victims," warned joint manager Colin Todd.
"They are a lower division club as far as we are concerned now but we know it's going to be a difficult game."
McFarland added: "The home draw is everything. When you hear your name first you don't care who you play. It's a bonus when it's a team that gives you a real chance of progressing.
"We won't take them easy. They have experience of the Premier League and Mark McGhee has turned them around and got them playing well."
