SCRUFFY businessmen are being offered tips on creating a better impression.
Bolton & Bury Chamber of Commerce is holding a "Men's Appearance Skills Workshop" on Thursday, November 2.
Up to six delegates paying £95 plus VAT will learn how to project their best visual image.
Seminar leader Judith Watson, who is the regional manager for image consultants House of Colour, believes first impressions last a lifetime.
"Controlling the impressions we project to others is an essential skill in today's business world," it says in the promotional leaflet.
"The day is suitable for anyone who wants to gain the edge over the competition, who is seeking a promotion or who needs to look as if they are worth the salary they are being paid!"
Course contents include:
** Using your appearance as a business tool.
** The economic advantages of looking good.
** Authority dressing, the rules of business dress.
** Personal consultation: individual colour analysis, encompassing personal high authority business colours.
** Individual wardrobe development and personal action plans.
The seminar - "a one-off investment in a future wardrobe that reflects the true man" - is being held between 9.30am and 5.30pm in the Chamber's Training Rooms in Bridgeman Place, Bolton.
Judith, who lives in Astley Bridge, said: "I come across men who are very talented, but they do not get the jobs they deserve because they do not look as though they are."
She believed men were becoming increasingly interested in their appearance.
