A PROPOSED Manchester underground railway is the main feature of a spectacular transportation plan for the city and surrounding town revealed today. The plan also proposes reopening and electrification of abandoned railway tracks, and the establishment of busways, roads reserved for buses only.

NO additional nations will share the secret engineering knowledge which made possible the perfecting of the atom bomb, said President Truman last night. He admitted that Britain and Canada shared this knowledge. The secret was the engineering knowledge of putting all the different pieces together and the finding of resources and plant with a capacity to complete this work. He doubted whether any other nation outside the U.S. had these resources.
