A BOLTON-based pub chain has banned the chart hit rude version of Smokie's "Living Next Door To Alice" featuring blue comedian Chubby Brown
Management at Yates Brothers Ltd in Manchester Road, Bolton, which runs the chain of Yates's Lodges, has outlawed the record on its premises because it contains the F-word.
Bosses claim sensitive customers are heading for the door everytime the updated version of the 1970s classic is played on the jukebox.
And Yates's has even banned the cleaned up version in which the naughty bits are replaced by bleeps.
A spokesman for Yates's said: "We have taken the decision to ban the record because it may be offensive to some of our customers."
