SIR: Calling all ex riders and supporters of the Chesham Comets cycle speedway team founded in October 1974, then based at Clarence Park, Bury. The club changed its name to Bury Cycle Speedway Club in 1988 and now boasts a new track at Goshen Sports Centre, Tennyson Avenue, off Manchester Road, Bury.
The club will celebrate its 21st anniversary with a special race meeting at the track on Saturday October 14 starting at 2pm and a reunion disco evening at the Brunswick Hotel, Moorgate, Bury at 7pm.
Obviously in 21 years there have been a great many riders of all ages come and gone, we are still in contact with many of them but others have settled far and wide and we have lost touch with so many old friends. Tickets are available for the disco at £2 each and all are welcome to the race meeting free of charge.
