A NEW electronic money transfer service linked up to 100 countries around the world is being installed at six local post offices.
From next Monday customers will be able to transfer funds safely and quickly to 26,000 Western Union locations.
All the post offices will have full bureau-de-change facilities providing a one-stop shop for customers including currency and travellers' cheques.
The cash can either be sent to Western Union offices in other countries or, in the USA, a cheque can be hand delivered to the customer's home. A message can be sent with the money transfer. All customers need to do is fill out a simple form and hand it over the counter.
Post offices in Deansgate, Bolton; Crompton Street, Bury; Brackley Street, Farnworth; Manchester Road, Leigh; Market Street, Westhoughton and Chorley Road, Swinton are all being linked up.
