A NEW phenomenon in entertainment was launched in Bolton last night.
Guests at fun pub and showbar Absolutely Fabulous, the former McGinlay's pub in Bath Street sold by Wanderers' star John McGinlay, were treated to a visual extravaganza to whet appetites for tonight's official opening.
Instead of juke boxes, Sky Sport on TV and discos, there will be a glamorous cabaret show every night.
Flamboyant owner Glen Stevens, who also does an act, boasted: "Bolton has never had anything like this before. People will travel from all over the galaxy to see me."
Resident DJ is Julia Grant, a former man who became famous after she allowed the BBC to follow her sex change operation and then years later let them document how she had coped.
The resident team will be giving eight shows a night from Tuesday through to Sunday. On Monday the entertainment will be provided by guest acts.
The entertainment kicks off every night at 8.45pm and the last show is at 11pm.
