BOLTON SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE JIMMY Reynolds helped his side Lads Club into the second round of the Open Cup scoring five times in the 8-0 drubbing of Derby Street Glass.

Other teams to reach the second stage were Cross Guns, Saddle, Deane and Derby, Miners Arms and Bolton Castle, who thrashed Three Crowns 12-2.

Back in the league and Fuller Vale just can't stop scoring goals. They are giving real headaches to second division defences with Fanny's becoming their latest victims, going down 10-3, Gary Webb scoring four with Paul Edwards getting two for Vale.

Lee Dingley cracked in a brace for Brightmill Romac in a fine 4-0 win at Farnworth and Kearsley Labour Club.

Seven Stars (Little Lever) beat Whitefield 8-2 with Glen Brooks scoring his first goal in four years and 93 games. Magnall also weighed in with a fine hat-trick.

In the Premier Division the game of the day between New Lane and Daubhill Athletic had to be abandoned after an unfortunate injury to Daubhill keeper John Crompton. Everyone sends their best wishes to John for a speedy recovery.

Manchester Road Inn could have gone top but some dreadful defending allowed Armitage Labour Club to deservedly take the three points. Road Inn's Andy Morris scored two to take his tally to seven in three games with Steve Brown getting the other.

In Division One, Andy Donoghue crowned an outstanding performance by scoring six goals as Feathers hammered Bell 9-0. Goals from Paddy McAfree and Gareth Taylor couldn't save Rawson Rangers from a 3-2 defeat by Hare and Hounds (Bolton).

Top game of the day in Division Three was between Astley Bridge and Darcy Lever who failed to muster a goal between them.

Seven Stars (Harwood) banged in ten in their fourth division match against Three Pigeons with Dean Holt scoring six and Wayne Jenkins four. Gresham beat Toby Inn 4-0 with goals from Isaccs, Harwood, Dean and Lewis.

The League also sends best wishes for a speedy recovery to Derek Lord from Hare and Hounds (Stoneclough) who suffered a broken shin bone. Derek will doubtless be cheered by his side's 3-2 victory over Clifton Rangers.
