OWEN Coyle's proposed move to Dundee United is back on.
The Wanderers striker has met officials from the Scottish First Division club for further discussions after initial negotiations broke down last week.
Wanderers boss Roy McFarland agreed a fee, believed to be in the region of £500,000, for the proven goalscorer last week but Dundee United could not meet the player's personal terms.
The move was revived with Coyle - who now looks surplus to requirements at Burnden Park - and his potential buyers continuing talks in a bid to find a solution.
Meanwhile, Wanderers appear closer to signing highly-rated Yugoslav midfielder Dragan Curcic after a successful day of talks.
McFarland, who is ready to spend £1million-plus on the OFK Belgrade star once a work permit has been sorted out, said today: "Negotiations are ongoing and are going very well."
Wanderers record signing Gerry Taggart has been ruled out of the Premiership games at Nottingham Forest and at home to Arsenal and the Coca-Cola Cup tie against Leicester City at Burnden Park after it was confirmed today that he must serve a three-match ban for a sending off for violent conduct in last week's reserve game against Everton.
**Striker Mixu Paatelainen, out with hernia trouble suffered on the opening day of the season, definitely begins his comeback in the reserve game against Oldham Athletic at Stalybridge Celtic tonight (kick off 7pm) when on-loan midfielder Wayne Burnett from Plymouth plays his third game for Wanderers.
