SIR: The mirror of truth cannot reflect the lie, but its light can illuminate the lie on the silver tongue of a politician. It is childlessly easy to find faults in the British working class, but it would be just as easy to make a home in Britain for moral and ethical standards, if we didn't have a Tory Government hell bent on destroying them.

The theme of this year's Conservative Party conference will be a rehash of former conferences, cuts, law and order, tax, capital punishments, and more harsh measures against the weak and disadvantaged. Here will sit some members of a government who wasted 20 billion pounds on the poll tax, destroyed the mining industry in order to crush a union, a government who has wasted more than 200 billion pounds of poll revenue on unemployment, sold almost all of our national assets to their rich friends, a government who attempts to blame the Labour Party and the trade unions for all the problems now facing British society, a government borrowing now about three billion pounds a month. But one think they do have is money power, and lots of it.
