WHITBREAD Inns are recruiting 80 full and part-time workers for a new family pub/restaurant in Bolton.
The former Walkers Leisure Club in Green Lane, which closed at the weekend, is being transformed into a Brewers Fayre outlet.
A £1.9m refurbishment scheme is due to be completed in time for a celebrity opening in January.
Before it became a private club, the building used to be the sporting club of the old Walkers Tannery and was once the home of the Walker family.
house manager Steve Acton said: "It's going to be absolutely tremendous."
Whitbread is making a determined bid for the family market with a chain of 250 Brewers Fayre developments throughout the country.
The Walkers scheme will have a children's playground.
Jobs on offer include house supervisors, bar, kitchen and waiting staff.
Applications are being handled by the Job Centre on Black Horse Street, Bolton.
A Whitbread Inns spokesman said they offered one of the best training programmes in the licensed trade.
He said: "Staff are encouraged to gain qualifications in the company's four-stage scheme which offers a clearly-defined route up the promotion ladder.
"The company's extensive benefits package includes a profit-related pay scheme, share ownership scheme, staff discount card, discounts on RAC membership, holidays and various types of insurance and company pension plan."
