SIR: I wish to express my concern that on attending for Jury Service at Bolton Crown Court on October 9, smokers and non-smokers had to share the same room.
There were far more smokers than non-smokers and the room soon became most unpleasant to sit in. One lady was drinking water every half hour or so, I had such a dry throat, stinging eyes and then started with a cough, that I could not attend the very next day, and rang in to say so.
I was told to write to the Chief Clerk which I have done but also thought I would write to the BEN.
I do so hope that a separate room will be soon found for the non-smokers.
Juror, Bolton
