A HORWICH shop assistant is in line to win a Shop Assistant of the Year title - and a Vauxhall Corsa car.
Katherine Shakeshaft, who works at the Late Shop in Winter Hey Lane, is one of 10 finalists in a competition run by United Norwest Co-operatives and Kleenex Products.
The competition is open to thousands of staff in more than 200 North-west stores. Customers nominated staff members.
They have now prepared essays on the improvements they would like to see in their stores and been interviewed by a panel of expert judges.
All the finalists will receive £100 in shopping vouchers and will spend the evening with a partner at the Mottram Hall Hotel in Prestbury, where the first three prizes will be announced.
In addition the winner will receive the car and the runners-up £600 and £400 respectively.
