A BOLTON primary school was today mourning the death of a second teacher in a few weeks.
Mrs Gail Hampson, aged 47, a teacher at Tonge Moor primary school collapsed at her home at Ruins Lane, Harwood on Sunday evening.
A post mortem was being held today, but it is believed she suffered a heart attack.
Only five weeks ago, music teacher Jane Diestler died from breast cancer, aged 30.
Mr Andrew Harding, who was headmaster between 1989 and 1994, said: "It is a terrible tragedy for the school."
Mrs Hampson, who leaves a daughter Kirsten, 20, and a son Peter, 17, taught junior school pupils and specialised in art and craft.
Mr Harding added: "The school has lost two tremendously creative teachers. Both of these ladies had so much to give and had a wonderful love of children. The children absolutely adored them and as a result responded so well to their teaching. They will be very badly missed."
The funeral is on November 1 at Overdale.
