MICHAEL Bichard, permanent secretary at the Department for Education and employment, opened Bolton's new look Job Centre service.
The service is based in the revamped offices in Great Moor Street, and the new offices in Blackhorse Street.
Both offices will offer identical services, giving advice on benefits, training, and jobs. Which one you go to will depend on your surname.
District manager Joan Lee said: "Surnames between A to K will be dealt with at Great Moor Street, and between K and Z in Blackhorse Street.
"Both sites offer identical facilities and, for the first time, will be able to give advice on both benefits and jobs, making it more of a one-stop shop."
Mr Bichard said: "The Employment Service is always looking at ways to improve the standards of service it offers to jobseekers and employers. These two offices provide both benefit and employment advice for the first time.
"Jobseekers can now access local and national job vacancies and get advice on finding work and training." There is also help for people with disabilities and a resident ethnic advisor.
"We also offer employers a full vacancy filling service, together with interview facilities, immediate job vacancy displays and national and local media advertising."
