Wanderers are determined to spend again in their continued bid for Premiership safety.
"Nothing has changed," Colin Todd insisted after seeing John McGinlay's goal secure three priceless points from last night's showdown with Arsenal.
"The win is a real boost for us, as far as confidence is concerned, but we are still looking for new players.
"We still have a long, long way to go."
Wanderers are still tracking Raith Rovers' £750,000 rated forward Colin Cameron while Aberdeen are bracing themselves for a renewed attempt to prise £2.5 million midfielder Eoin Jess away from Pittodrie. The Burnden management are maintaining their customary stance of staying tight-lipped on transfer activity. For the time being they are savouring the fruits of their recent recruitment drive in the shape of £1.5 million signing Sasa Curcic, who made an encouraging debut against Arsenal.
The Yugoslav international was delighted with his winning start, despite being substituted in the 73rd minute when he was showing a hint of fatigue and feeling a minor groin problem.
"The pace of the game was quick but, for me, that was not a problem," the 23-year-old midfielder said.
Curcic was suitably impressed by the players around him and the spirit they showed to grind out a hard-earned victory and suggested: "Bolton deserve to be in a better place in the Premier League. We proved that."
Wanderers moved up a place on the back of the win, delighting joint managers Roy McFarland and Todd, who was satisfied with the Serb's performance on his debut.
"He may take a short time to adapt to the formation we play but he has good ability." McFarland paid tribute to the Burnden crowd. "The atmosphere was magnificent," he acknowledged. "We had to hang in and didn't help ourselves by giving the ball away so much. But the win has lifted us into a position where we are in amongst everybody again.
"We've had good performances in the previous three games without getting the rewards. That put pressure on the players to get a result last night so it was important, for Colin and I, to see them come through it together.
"It was a good, solid performance. But the players will keep their feet on the ground. They didn't duck when things were going against them and they won't be getting cock a' hoop on the strength of one win."
