FEARS were growing today for the safety of an 86-year-old man who has been missing for two nights.
Police are searching for Frank Bleakley who disappeared from Seymour House residential home in Astley Bridge on Monday afternoon.
They fear the great-grandad will not be able to survive freezing night-time temperatures if he is wandering around alone and confused.
And worried police and family have appealed for anyone who has seen Mr Bleakley over the past few days to get in touch.
Mr Bleakley lived with his wife Kathleen, who will be 87 on Friday, on Rainshaw Street, Astley Bridge for 30 years before going into full-time care about five weeks ago.
Police have searched open ground in the area and the helicopter has been looking for the pensioner without success. Insp Stan Lewin said: "We are now getting extremely worried."
