THE battle was continuing today to save hundreds of fish after a pollution scare at two Bolton lodges.

Members of Bolton Anglers' Association found fish gasping for oxygen yesterday at the two Firwood Lodges, near Firwood Fold, Bolton.

Experts called in from the National Rivers Authority found that sewage had leaked into the water, causing a huge drop in oxygen levels.

Today generators were being used to power aerating machinery and efforts were continuing to trace the source of pollution.
