ANGRY union officials are holding a protest and appealing for public support in a row with supermarket bosses.
GMB union representatives will be outside the Asda Blackburn Road store, Astley Bridge, tomorrow from 10am-2pm collecting signatures for a petition.
They are angry at plans to pay new staff working Sundays time-and-a-half instead of double time rates.
The union claim it goes against the original spirit of agreements set up at the start of Sunday trading.
Union national officer Donna Covey said: "We have been inundated with support from members of the public. They are angry that Asda has reneged on their commitments during the Sunday trading debates. We are confident that the people of Bolton will support their local staff."
Asda were unavailable to comment.
