A BOLTON company that makes really "revolutionary" products has been strengthening its export links on a DTI sponsored trade delegation to the Far East. John Entwistle, managing director of The British Turntable Company, based in Emblem Street, Bolton, was part of the delegation which took in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore to research the market and consider applications for dealerships in each of the three territories. The delegation was led by the President of the Board of Trade, Ian Lang .
Mr Entwistle said: "It was a hectic week of meetings, but we were given a very warm welcome wherever we went. There is a huge market for British goods out there and it is an area which is booming.
"We are confident we have won a number of new customers as a direct result of our trip."
The Bolton firm already exports its products - particularly its range of Merlin car showroom turntables - to more than 100 countries.
Only last month it played host to six visitors from Indonesia and, as a result, British Turntable products are now being marketed more aggressively there.
Since it was founded 36 years ago, the company has developed a wide range of turntables - from small battery and solar powered models for shop windows to giant 25 tonnes capacity models capable of moving a loaded revolving stage.
