SCRUM-HALF Shaun Brown is out of the rest of Leigh's centenary season.
He has broken his arm for the second time in three games and will undergo surgery in the next few days.
Signed from Salford in the summer, Brown broke his forearm for the first time in only his second match at Hull KR in August. His right arm was broken again in his comeback match against Bramley last Sunday.
"The break is more serious than the first time," confirms coach Ian Lucas. "This time it will need plating and we're trying to get him into hospital for the operation as quickly as possible.
"He won't play again before the summer season starts in March. By that time the injury should have fully healed."
But Leigh might have a ready-made replacement right under their noses.
Alliance coach Willie Johnson made an impressive playing comeback last night - at the age of 36!
Johnson, the former Swinton, Highfield and Dewsbury, scrum-half guided a young Leigh side to a 10-10 draw against second placed Featherstone at Hilton Park, their first success after six straight defeats.
Johnson, who needed eight stitches in a head wound at half time, steadied Leigh's ship when Featherstone turned up the heat in the second half.
Leigh's tries came from Ian Halsall and David Ingram with Dave Riley adding one goal.
