A PENSIONER who has never owned his own car has been given a VIP trip in a Rolls Royce by a Bolton garage.

Henry Armstrong, aged 65, spends his retirement walking round the Kearsley and south Bolton area with his dog Tara.

He takes scenic pictures of the area and drops them in at places around the route he regularly walks.

And he has become a well known and much loved face calling in frequently at Bowling and Ryan garage on the Fishbrook Industrial Estate, Roscow Road. The garage repairs and services top of the range cars, including Rolls Royces - a subject that fascinates Mr Armstrong.

Mr Armstrong, of Station Road, Kearsley, said: "We've always managed to get around walking and on public transport. But I'm fascinated by these cars."

"I'm absolutely delighted that they've been so kind and given me the chance to do this."

Mr Armstrong is also a regular visitor to Clifton House Farm where he feeds the horses.
