BOLTON County's 5-1 home win against high-flying Old Blackburnians was not only a great team performance but a real morale booster after a recent string of poor results.
County scored after only 10 minutes from a Steve Eccleshare free kick and, after a brilliant solo run, Danny Wadeson added a second.
Winning 2-1 at half time, County were subjected to a period of intense pressure and only an inspired display by their young keeper Mark Andrews kept the visitors at bay.
Then Paul Swift, who had cracked in a hat-trick against Newman College the previous week, set off on a jinking run, beating man after man before laying on County's third goal courtesy of Mark Walker. County's fourth came from Steve Hulme, whose blistering pace left the visitors' defence standing before yet another solo effort from Danny Wadeson provided a grand finale.
After last week's 3-0 success at home against Broughton, County's Reserves had a very comfortable 5-1 away win against Preston GSA with goals coming at regular intervals from Bob Smith (3), and Neil Horrocks (2).
