SOME eyebrows are going to be raised in Blackpool this summer - by the sight of young men and women without any clothes! They won't be seen on the sands or the Golden Mile, though. The group of nudies will be on stage at the Winter Gardens, and the middle-aged and elderly will be given quite a shock. The cause of this, and the public outcry which will probably come, is the decision by impresario Bernard Delfont to stage a production of "Hair", the American tribal love rock musical, for the summer season. 50 YEARS AGO

THE advancement of the Bolton new Parish Church towards completion, although gradual, is very satisfactory, and since our last notice a great deal of work has been accomplished which does not appear to a casual observer.

The heating apparatus is completed, and the boarded floors are laid, ready and waiting for the erection upon them of the open benches. The designs for the gas fittings have yet to be decided upon.

The most noticeable features, however, are the new stained window in the south transept, the gift of Mrs Peter Ormrod in memory of the late Thomas Hardcastle, Esq.; and the north transept window, which is an enlargement of the beautiful window of the old Parish Church, remodelled to adapt it to the tracery of the present window.
