WORRIED Bolton women are turning to self-defence classes in the wake of the murder of Angela Heyes.
Bolton Thai Boxing Club, which started a female-only class at its Brown Street headquarters for the first time at the weekend, reports a flood of calls since the body was found.
Barrie Fitzsimmons, the Club's chairman, said: "We had around 20 calls from women about the class almost straight away.
"They were definitely concerned about defending themselves and wanted to know if the class was still on."
The Club already had a "brilliant" response to the first session on Saturday afternoon, with local females aged from five to 51 keen to learn self-defence.
