car thief A HAVE-A-GO hero ended up in hospital with stab injuries after catching a car thief breaking into neighbours' vehicles.
The 45-year-old man, who has not been named, found the thief early today tampering with cars in Claude Avenue, Swinton.
In a scuffle the man was stabbed four times in his body and was this afternoon being treated in hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The man and a neighbour clung to the thief until police arrived three minutes later.
A 21-year-old local man was arrested and is being questioned by detectives.
