FIREMEN spent almost an hour at the scene of a road accident early today. They had to release two car drivers from their wrecked vehicles after the head-on crash in Walmersley Road, Bury, near its junction with Limefield Brow.
Altas Ishaq, 19, of Monmouth Avenue, Bury, who was driving a Toyota was involved in the collision with a Rover driven by David Moore, 36, of Benson Street, Bury. They were taken to Bury General Hospital by ambulance, suffering from severe cuts and bruises and suspected broken legs, and later transferred to Fairfield Hospital. Walmersley Road was closed to traffic for several hours this morning between Limefield Brow and Mather Road.
