AN amateur football club has suffered a second major blaze in a week.
Now officials are planning a crisis meeting to discuss a possible appeal for funds to help repair the Pennington Football Club premises in Leigh Road, Atherton.
The away team changing rooms were damaged in the latest fire yesterday morning. The kitchen area was also badly damaged.
Last week's fire was thought to have started in a faulty TV set and it swept through the bar area and social room. Yesterday's blaze, believed to have been started by vandals, took the total area of the building to be hit by fire to around three quarters.
A meeting is planned for Wednesday when club officials will discuss a possible appeal.
