RADCLIFFE BORO 3 MATLOCK 2 RADCLIFFE Boro sit four games away from a possible high glamour Wembley Final in the FA Umbro Trophy after a storming victory over Unibond Premier Division side, Matlock.

Striker Peter McRae, signed earlier in the season from Bamber Bridge by Boro boss Kevin Glendon, earned himself a special place in the Stainton Road Hall of Fame with a stunning hat-trick.

The tie was an absolute thriller from start to finish with Boro totally dominating the opening 25 minutes. On 18 minutes McRae got his first from a Joe Connor cross. This stung Matlock into action and for 20 minutes each side of half time, the game looked theirs.

Player-boss Imre Varadi levelled on 38 minutes and Mark Culley made it 2-1 on 58. Back came Boro and especially that man McRae. He made it level on the hour and with just two minutes left, gave Glendon's side a well-deserved and historic victory. ATHERTON LR 0 LINCOLN UNITED 1 LR slipped to defeat to a third-placed Lincoln side that had not won away from home since the first week of October.

Gavin McDonald had the chances to seal the game for Rovers, no less than three in the first five minutes, but sadly he had a rare off-day. Lincoln's Ian Williams was sent off just before half time for an off the ball offence on Paul Burrows, with Rick Renshaw fortunate not to suffer the same punishment for a worse-looking assault on Mick Southern. Renshaw added insult to injury by scoring the decisive goal on 61 minutes. DAISY HILL 2 BLACKPOOL MECS 1 DAISY Hill came out on top in a game that according to manager Jimmy Hulton "wasn't a classic by any means!"

Gareth Webster (20 minutes) and Neil Critchley (75) earned the three league points for Daisy with Steve Hornby (30) replying for the visitors. Former Chorley player Webster was voted Air Products Man of the Match. RAMSBOTTOM 3 STANTONDALE 0 RAMSBOTTOM United bounced back to top form after a couple of indifferent results with a comfortable win over Stantondale.

Mark Keagan, the player restored to the starting line-up by manager Ken Bridge, was the star of the show with goals on 87 and 89 minutes to add to Martin Hulme's on 7 minutes. NELSON 1 ATHERTON COLLS 1 COLLS and Nelson must do it all over again tomorrow night after Saturday's 1-1 League Challenge Cup stalemate.

Colls took the lead on 50 minutes through Peter Oldbury with Matt Shields replying on 70.

Atherton Colls original league fixture for tomorrow night against Daisy Hill has been postponed.
