BURY boss Stan Ternent today laid the law down to his under-achieving stars, writes NEIL BONNAR.
Ternent was fuming after seeing his side hand all three points to Northampton with a scrappy performance capped by a gift goal.
And he has made it clear he is prepared to wield the axe on anybody who lets the side down.
Ternent's anger was centred upon Northampton's 50th minute goal - their only chance of the game - which was gifted to Jason White when Ian Hughes rolled a back pass straight into the striker's path.
The manager was seething about the part other players had in the run up to the goal, claiming they should never have got themselves into the situation in the first place.
"We gave them the goal. It was ridiculous.
"It's all right Ian holding his hands up but that's not good enough.
"Giving goals away like this is something we have been trying to eliminate from the club, which we obviously have not done. There have been four or five games this season in which we have beaten ourselves.
"The goal was totally unprofessional and if they continue to do it they will not be in the team."
