BOLTON'S first four teams had mixed fortunes in the first Lace ?Mawer league hockey action since the Christmas.
The First XI produced their best performance of the season as they thrashed league leaders Alsager 3-0.
Scott Tobbutt and keeper John Smith returned and the game was dominated by Bolton from start to finish and with Smith, Cowie and Matheson rock solid at the back and the forwards pressuring the Alsager defence at will.
Chris Lord scored another two goals and the third was struck by Andy Jackson from a well worked short corner.
Bolton could even afford the luxury of Yogan Patel's penalty flick miss. The Second XI were unlucky to lose 1-0 at Mossley Hill. They conceded an early penalty and lost Richard Dixon with a knee injury before Bolton's ten men carried the game to Mossley Hill.
The Third XI came from behind to beat Bramhall 2-1 with goals from Richard Moore and a beautiful reverse stick flick from Craig Cook.
The Fourth XI were comprehensively beaten 4-0 by a very useful Brooklands team while the Fifth XI thrashed Bramsall 7-3 with goals from Mark Woodward (2), Chris Houghton (2) and Paul Ashunt (3). The Badgers drew 1-1 with Alderley Edge with Chris Buckley scoring again.
