SUPER slimmer Irene Hurst is less than half the woman she was. In fact, she's 10 stone lighter!
She started losing weight two years ago when she was 18 stones and hated being unable to enjoy walking.
"I'd always been big, right from being a child," explained Irene. "But being small (she's 5 feet tall) seemed to make it worse."
At the age of 51, Irene decided to do something about it, and joined Pat's Slimming Club, which meets at St Matthew's Church, Brownlow Way and at St George's Church, Plodder Lane, Farnworth. "The eating plan wasn't hard - in fact, it didn't feel like dieting at all," insisted Irene.
The result, though, was that the pounds soon started to roll off, until Irene's dress size 26/28 had reduced to a neat size 10.
The new slimline Irene is now a keen walker and cyclist, and loves being able to "wear anything." Her family are also thrilled with the newlook Irene.
"My grandchildren are a bit young to see the difference, but there's definitely more room on the chair when we both sit down!" she added, laughing.
And, to acknowledge her hard work, Irene was made Pat's Slimmer of the Year at a special Club presentation.
