BOLTON professional Tony Knowles made a brief appearance at the Royal Welsh snooker championship in Newport on Saturday when he was whitewashed 5-0 by world number 110 Gerard Greene.
Knowles, the former world number two, was beaten in just 87 minutes by Greene who will now play either Steve Davis or Dominic Dale in the next round.
