THE whole Saturday North West non-league programme was wiped out by the weather at the weekend.

But there was local interest in the draw for the quarter-finals of the Lancashire ATS Trophy which saw Radcliffe Boro come out of the hat second yet again.

The Stainton Road outfit face only four away trips in the remaining 16 UniBond Division One games but the fates have seen Kevin Glendon's side drawn out of the hat to travel in the four remaining cup competitions. "When you keep getting drawn away from home in these cups you begin to get a bit paranoid," club secretary David Murgatroyd said.

The draw for the Lancs ATS landed Glendon's lads with a trip to Vauxhall Conference Morecambe, slightly fortunate 2-0 victors over Leigh RMI in the previous round.

The game is scheduled for a week tomorrow. This follows the Manchester Premier Cup second round away tie at NWCL Division One strugglers Salford City tomorrow night.

On February 20 is the UniBond President's Cup quarter-finals with Boro travelling to Premier Division leaders Bamber Bridge and sandwiched in between, on Saturday, February 10, is the big one - Bognor Regis away in the second round of the FA Umbro Trophy. Planning for this trip continued at the weekend. The whole party is to travel down in style on Friday lunchtime, staying overnight.

The full draw for the Lancashire ATS Trophy quarter finals is: Bamber Bridge v Daisy Hill; Southport v Barrow; Clitheroe v Chorley; Morecambe v Radcliffe Boro.

DAISY Hill manager Jimmy Hulton is not daunted by his side's away pairing at UniBond Premier Division leaders Bamber Bridge.

"We can't wait to get up and at them," he enthused. "There'll probably be 400 or 500 on to watch the game and we're really looking forward to it."
