TEENAGER Lindsey McCulloch is hoping to finance a trip to Brazil to help people less fortunate than herself.
Lindsey, aged 17, says she wants to help others because she has been lucky enough to have had chances in life.
The Canon Slade Sixth Form pupil will be heading for Brazil in August as part of a scheme organised by Project Trust.
The organisation sends 200 volunteers a year across the world to help in deprived countries.
Lindsey was picked to go to Brazil where she will help in creches, teaching English. But she needs £3,000 for the trip to, as she explains, "ensure I don't cost anything to the community I am working in," she said.
She hopes local businesses and organisations will sponsor her and she is willing to give talks and presentations to earn her keep.
Lindsey, who lives in Astley Bridge, is looking forward to the trip, which she describes as a "challenge and the chance to broaden my experience". She says it is something she desperately wants to do. " have been given so much. I have had a good education and great support from my parents, Barbara and Malcolm. I want to give something back," she says.
Anyone who would like to help Lindsey achieve her dream can contact her on Bolton 308881.
