A BOLTON roofing company has been wrecked by thugs who doused offices in petrol and set fire to the building.

The arsonists first rifled through the offices at Killeen Roofing on Davenport Street, then started a blaze which gutted the interior of the building.

Three fire crews fought the blaze which started at 9.30pm for more than three hours last night. Detectives are now investigating the incident.

The gang is believed to have broken in at the rear of the roofing contractors' building, searched the offices for money and then poured "flammable liquids" throughout before starting the fire. Severe damage was caused to the staircase, ground and first-floor offices, storage areas and roofing.

This morning company boss, Tony Killeen, was too shocked to speak about the attack.

Police are appealing for anyone who can help them trace the culprits to contact detectives on 522466.
