SIR: I read with some trepidation that Bolton Pentecostal Church are planning to establish a radio station which aims to 'reach out to the unsaved'.

May I ask who these 'unsaved' people be? Do they mean everyone who doesn't particularly agree with the 'born again' dogma expounded by the Pentecostal Church (and others).

The likes of Mr Tom Jones and their views receive more than enough coverage through the letters column of this newspaper, I hardly think they warrant a 24-hour radio station. As to the cost - £6,500 for just one month's broadcasting - may I suggest the money be better spent on providing radios for the homeless who need all the 'saving' and help they can get.

Finally may I suggest that if Mr Jones twiddled the dial on his radio he may find that radio these days is NOT just a lot of loud music.
